When Hot 97 became a hip hop radio station, Funkmaster Flex was one of the first people to become a radio personality. Prior to this, he was a popular NYC DJ with ties to many popular rappers. He became a household name when he helped break The Notorious B.I.G.
Funkmaster Flex rose to become a force in music and many DJs followed his mold. One, in particular, was DJ Clue, who went onto also work at Hot 97. But, he would be the first to leave for Power 105.1, their rival station, followed by DJ Envy, years later.
Since DJ Clue left, Funkmaster Flex has had a problem with him, despite their recent truce. When he sat down with ThisIs50, Funk Flex had choice words for him. He would call Clue a “wack DJ” and said he doesn’t want to battle.
