Fugees’ “The Score” 25th Anniversary tour gets canceled, over COVID-19 concerns

Last fall, Fugees began their 25th anniversary tour, as they held a concert in New York. After that though, the tour was postponed, due to COVID-19 concerns. Now, the legendary New York hip-hop group is sadly canceling the tour for good.

Fugees took to social media today, to announce the cancellation of their tour. They believe that they cannot keep fans safe, and didn’t even cite possible vaccination mandates, at the shows. Fugees also thanked their fans for all of the support over the years.

“We anticipate and understand disappointment but our anniversary tour will not be able to happen.  The continued COVID pandemic has made touring conditions difficult, and we want to make sure we keep our fans and ourselves healthy and safe.  An idea sparked to honor and celebrate this 25th anniversary of The Score but we see now it may not currently be our time for revisiting this past work.  We’re grateful for the special night we did get to share with some of you in New York, with that rare live moment. If opportunity, public safety and scheduling allow, we hope to be able to revisit this again sometime soon. THANK YOU for all your love and support throughout the years.”

Fugees were originally celebrating the 25th anniversary of their second studio album, “The Score.” This was originally released in 1996, and debuted at number one, on the Billboard 200 chart. It is also certified 7x platinum in the US
