French Montana gave new life to Diddy’s 1990s phrase “wanna be a balla, shot caller,” with his hit single, “Shot Caller.” Using the phrase for his single, French Montana said it was only right he recruit Diddy for the official remix of the single. Christmas for Diddy came early, when it was revealed by French Montana, he had signed with Bad Boy Records.
When French Montana created the “Shot Caller (remix),” he also called on Rick Ross for a verse. Much like the original, the remix of “Shot Caller” has become one of the biggest hits in recent months. French Montana already had an incredible buzz, due to his mixtape releases and music videos.
However, when he signed with Bad Boy Records, French Montana prepared to make the mainstream transition. French Montana has easily made the transition, making appearances on MTV and BET. Tomorrow evening, French Montana’s official video for “Shot Caller,” which was shot a few weeks ago, will premiere on BET’s “106 & Park.”
