The annual VMAs are now taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and the awards are already rolling in. French Montana came out to announce the award for Best Latin Video. The winner went to Rosalia for her “Con Altura” hit single featuring J Balvin and El Guincho.
Prior to the announcement, Montana mentioned how he’s an immigrant along with the award nominees. This sounded like a clear message to Donald Trump due to his constant xenophobia. Salute to Montana for using his platform to call out this kind of hate in America, especially by a sitting president.
"I'm so proud to present this award. As an immigrant, I feel like we are the people that made this country and I feel like I want to be a voice…for immigrants.” – @FrencHMonTanA #IStandWithImmigrants #VMAs pic.twitter.com/MxXTLXYzT7
