During the 2011-2012 period, Frank Ocean was one of the biggest artists in the game, gaining immediate co-signs. Despite being a member of Odd Future, Frank Ocean has a deal with Def Jam. In 2011, Frank Ocean gained co-signs from Game, Kanye West, and Jay-Z and a rival in Chris Brown.

Of course, during the summer of 2012, Frank Ocean came out as bisexual and revealed his first love was another man. Frank Ocean followed this with the release of his critically-acclaimed Channel Orange album. While Frank Ocean didn’t drop an album in 2013, he did have work to do.

Chipotle reached out to Frank Ocean via CAA to sing a song called “Pure Imagination.” The song was for their advertising campaign and Frank Ocean was paid $212,500 upfront for the song with a matching sum after the song was completed. In the midst of this, Frank Ocean backed out of the deal and Chipotle filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court.
