I guess all good things must come to an end I suppose. With the 111-106 lose to the Brooklyn Nets last night, the Los Angeles Lakers were officially eliminated from playoff contention. This will mark the first time in 13 years that LeBron James will not appear in the NBA playoffs.
Since the beginning of this new year with the Lakers, LeBron’s ability to keep this streak alive was always in question, given the level of competition he was walking into in the West. And while the writing may have been on the wall for some time, nevertheless it’s still sad and daunting to know that the prospect of a LeBron-less playoffs will actually come to fruition.
