Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul’s Exhibition Boxing Match Which Was Set For February 20 Officially Postponed; Both Say It Was Due To “COVID and Other Things”

Last month, the boxing world was stunned to hear that one of its all-time greats, Floyd Mayweather, would be stepping back into the ring. This would be for an exhibition match vs Logan Paul, the brother of Jake Paul. The fight was set to go down on February 20 and streamed on PPV on Fanmio.

Now, the fight between Mayweather and Paul is officially off, according to TMZ Sports. A Mayweather representative said that there were multiple factors for this, including “COVID and other things.” Both sides reportedly do want this rescheduled ASAP, though.

Many did not feel that this would be good for the sport due to Mayweather going against a “YouTuber” and someone who is 0-1 in their professional boxing career. Celebrity boxing matches appear to be popular now though so it is a cash cow for sure. Mayweather last stepped into the ring for a boxing exhibition match on December 31 in Saitama, Japan vs Tenshin Nasukawa. Mayweather easily won by TKO in the first round.

Paul last lost to KSI in November 2019 in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. This was as a result of a split decision in a match that lasted six rounds. His brother, Jake, is 2-0, with his last win being a very notable won vs Nate Robinson on the Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr undercard in November of last year. He scored a second round KO.
