Fans Celebrate 1-Year Anniversary of Cardi B Releasing Chart-Topping “WAP” Single, Featuring Megan Thee Stallion

A year ago today, Cardi B released one of the biggest records of her career in “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. This record debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and quickly became a viral sensation.

The visuals for WAP also became a heavily trended topic, as cameos included Kylie Jenner, Normani, Latto, and more. The sexual content of the song itself was also discussed heavily. Fans loved it, but also received criticism, from people such as Republicans, as well as Candace Owens.

Nonetheless, WAP is now 6x platinum in the US, and still one of the most popular records out, a year later. Cardi took to Twitter to thank the fans for their support on this record, as well as to celebrate its 1-year anniversary.

“Wow I can’t believe wappity WAP turned one today. It don’t even feel like it. What a record! @theestallion we should do it again sometime.”
