Famous Dex Reportedly Sentenced to One Year in Prison, For Domestic Violence and Gun Charges

Famous Dex’s legal woes continue to plague him, as now, he’s been hit with a year-long prison sentence, according to Akademiks. This stems from a domestic violence case.

The Chicago rapper is currently incarcerated in a Los Angeles-area prison, as he was initially sentenced on September 1. Gun charges were also involved in this sentence, due to separate incidents over the past year.

It appears that Dex has been getting credit for time served though, as he may get out this November, as opposed to sometime in 2022.

Back in March, Dex received 19 charges, relating to domestic violence and gun possession, per TMZ. At the time, these involved incidents with his ex-girlfriends. Police saw a woman at his home with injuries, and there was also a stand-off with SWAT members, after assaulting his other ex. Dex had also barricaded himself with weapons.

That incident resulted in domestic violence, weapon possession, dissuading a victim from reporting a crime, and defacing property charges. There was also another incident with a different woman, last October. That situation resulted in charges of corporal injury domestic violence, threatening a domestic partner, exhibiting a firearm, inflicting bodily injury, dissuading a victim from reporting a crime, defacing property and illegal possession of a firearm.

Dex initially faced 18 years in prison, so this is a huge win for him, considering the circumstances. If he can bounce back and achieve the stardom he had before is also a question to wonder.
