A decade ago, things were beginning to die down where female rappers were concerned, as the most popular femcee, Eve, had taken a hiatus. Becoming one of the most-popular rappers in the game, Eve received many offers. Among them was the opportunity to be the executive producer of her own sitcom, “Eve.”
From 2003 to 2006, Eve played the role of sitcom star and television producer. There was a five year gap between albums when Eve returned in 2007. It looked as if 2007 would be big on comebacks, as DMX, Eve, Dr. Dre, Ja Rule, and Eminem were all rumored to have new album due, but none ever came.
For Eve, it would be another six years before her album came. Lip Lock is the name of her album and it is due in May. Meanwhile, Eve is currently in the midst of her media rounds. After talked to Shade 45’s DJ Whoo Kid, Eve moved over to Sway Calloway to talk about the female rap game and her love life for “Sway in the Morning.”
