Nicki Minaj’s success has made her the first female rapper since Eve to have certain levels of success. There was a drought with females in the rap game, but Nicki Minaj led this turnaround. However, Nicki Minaj, at one time or another, has found herself dissed by Lil’ Kim, Khia, Foxy Brown, and Jacki-O.
Support has come from Trina in the past, but Nicki Minaj faced a tough road with the other women in the game. Eve came from the era of the previously-mentioned female emcees and she was asked about Nicki Minaj. When she addressed this, Eve pointed out her friendships and her focus on her own music.
Admittedly, Eve’s Lip Lock was a tough pill to swallow because it was so different from her older music.
