Hip hop had a special energy about itself in the 1990s. Bad Boy Records took the game over with their “shiny suit era” and then there were artists like Jadakiss, Jay-Z, DMX, and also Ja Rule, at the time, making street music. During this period of time, Eve ended up emerging as a popular artist.

From 1999 through 2003, Eve was one of the biggest rappers in the game, all gender aside. At the peak of her popularity, Eve received many business propositions, which included UPN hiring her as a producer for her own sitcom, “Eve.” After a three year run, the series was cancelled.

Recently, Eve has been making her media rounds and she showed up at the Shade 45 studios to talk to DJ Whoo Kid. Sitting down for an interview, Eve talked about the collaborations she has on her Lip Lock album. Eve discussed the features she had on her project.
