“Empire” is the first show of its kind, a show about business and espionage dedicated to hip hop. Led by Terrence Howard’s Lucious Lyon, the company, Empire, is something his entire family is fighting over. In the beginning, plotting began from Andre (Trai Byers).
During the pilot episode, Andre teamed up with Vernon (Malik Yoba) to take Empire from Lucious. This led to friction between Andre, Vernon, and Lucious, with the latter two being lifelong friends. However, Andre and Vernon also fought often and it got physical.
Fresh off a mental breakdown due to bipolar disorder, Andre is still making moves to claim Empire, which Lucious left to Jamal (Jussie Smollett) in the season finale. While this is going on, Vernon visits Andre and the two soon get into a fight. Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) is Andre’s wife and she walks in on the fight, hitting Vernon and killing him, leaving Twitter shocked.
