Still, “Empire” remains the phenomenon that swept the nation. The show immediately broke television records. During the first season, every episode gained over the previous episode, as Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson received rave reviews.
During season one, Jussie Smollett proved to be the breakout artist of the show, as fans fell for Jamal’s story. This season, there were not many episode gains, dips instead. Meanwhile, Bryshere “Yazz” Gray has taken his turn as breakout star.
The #EmpireWithdrawals ended last night, as fans were happy to have the Lyon family back. Too bad Andre and Rhoda (Trai Byers and Kaitlin Doubleday) won’t be welcoming their bundle of joy to the world. But, Lee Daniels and Danny Strong have to be pleased, as their spring premiere showed a 4.4% gain over the winter finale.
