Seeing what Lucious (Terrence Howard) is putting Anika (Grace Gealey) through, it is easy to forget she killed Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday). Much of season two saw the Lyon family mistreat Anika. It led to her mental breakdown and accidental killing of Rhonda.
But, Lucious has married Anika, due to the federal investigation going on. With Anika as his wife, she cannot testify against Lucious, despite her having Hakeem’s (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) baby. Anika is living in the house with Lucious and Leah (Leslie Uggams).
Both Lucious and his mother, Leah, are giving Anika a hard time. The “Empire” fans watching have taken to Twitter to show Anika some sympathy, but then they point out how Anika ruined Andre (Trai Byers) life. So, Anika is trending on Twitter with, both, this and the fact that she has an emoji.
