On nights like these, it becomes clear “Empire” is the top-rated show on television. Despite being off for the third straight week, “Empire” remains Twitter’s leading trending topic. When the show went on hiatus, Lucious (Terrence Howard) just got into the streaming wars.
Empire XStream was set to be another competitor to Jay Z’s TIDAL and unwanted partner, Shine (Xzibit) got into it with Andre (Trai Byers). It built a lot of anticipation, but FOX inserted a two week hiatus. This was due to the coverage of the World Series.
Tonight, “Empire” was set to return, but the World Series went into a Game 7. Sports followers know, all to well, about what Game 7s do to regular television schedules. But, “Empire” fans are having none of that and they voiced their opinions via Twitter.
