The magic of “Empire” that was drawing in over 20 million viewers an episode has died down. No doubt, the cast and crew loved the momentum, but they knew it would not last. But, “Empire” had more than enough going for itself to remain at number one.
This week’s “Empire” episode saw Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) begin to find her way with Angelo (Taye Diggs). Lucious (Terrence Howard) did his best to disrupt this, as Andre (Trai Byers) got his groove back with Nessa (Sierra McClain). The Shyne (Xzibit) fight scene was cool, too.
Rounding out the episode was Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) stepping up for Bella and Jamal (Jussie Smollett) showing signs of an addict. It is gripping portrayals like these that keep “Empire” with a large core audience. The overall ratings for the fourth episode of season three have the show at 9.7 million viewers.
