To be a show only one season old, “Empire” received a lot of attention and acclaim. Almost every TV record that exists, “Empire” broke in their twelve episode run. This, alone, shows how powerful hip hop is and FOX and Lee Daniels have a hit on their hands.

Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson definitely delivered in their lead roles of Lucious and Cookie. Also, Jussie Smollett, Bryshere Gray, and Trai Byers delivered in their roles of Jamal, Hakeem, and Andre. The family dynamic reminded many of “Dallas” and “Dynasty.”

After only one episode, “Empire” was renewed for a second season and fans can’t wait. It’s only been a few weeks since the “Empire” season finale where Terrence Howard’s Lucious was arrested. But, the fan anticipation makes it feel like years, but the show is coming back for eighteen episodes in season two, divided into two parts and the likes of Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, and Lenny Kravitz guest star.
