Eminem reaches gold certification with “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” in its first week

The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is officially a week old and Eminem is pushing the latest single off the album. Reunited with Rihanna, Eminem has his song “The Monster” slated to be the new single from him. A music video is soon in the works for “The Monster” and will be out shortly.

Eminem introduced the album back in August with the “Berzerk” single. He later delivered such singles as “Bad Guy” and “Rap God.” The second of those singles sparked quite the controversy with “Rap God,” as it picked up where Eminem left off on the original album with the homophobic slurs.

Predictions had Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 album set to debut high in its first week sales. Early predictions said 300,000 copies in the first week and later predictions said 1.2 million copies. Eminem has since moved 512,000 copies in one week, crossing the gold mark with The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
