Elfrid Payton and Jae Crowder fight!
The Memphis Grizzlies-New York Knicks game was well in hand and was in the final seconds when Elfrid Payton committed a foul that was obviously a flagrant foul. Jae Crowder seemed to be rubbing it in when he took a three while the Grizzlies were up by eighteen. Payton pushed him while he was in mid-air.
You can kind of feel for Payton when you consider the circumstances but there is no place for that. It goes in the category of the move that Myles Garrett made on Mason Rudolph. It was very unnecessary and it caused a massive scrum.
Marcus Morris in the midst of the scrum decided to push Ja Morant inexplicably which added to the mayhem. Payton had a good game even though he ended the contest on a violent note. He had 15 points, 11 assists and six rebounds.
