In a few hours, Americans will officially know who their next president will be. A part of the reason the current president got to where he is at is because of Common. Since the beginning, Common was always a politically-motivated rapper, but he never endorsed a candidate before.

Common is one of the first rappers from Chicago to make it big in the rap game. Meanwhile, Barack Obama launched his political career from the Southside. The first endorsement by Common led to Jay Z and many others lining up to endorse Obama.

Many are now doing the same for Hillary Clinton and Common has let it be known that is where he is voting. But, what is more important than all of that is just for people to exercise their constitutional right to simply vote. Common spent this Election Day morning at City Tech, where he spoke with students about just that.
