In 1989, Eddie Murphy cemented his legacy as a true icon, when he and Arsenio Hall starred in Coming To America. This film became a cultural classic, emulated by many. There are episodes of TV shows, such as “Martin,” patterned after this series.
Even Michael Jackson borrowed the movie’s concept for his star-studded “Remember The Time” music video. Often, there have been questions of possibly doing a sequel. Due to the movie being a classic, however, it was never seriously discussed.
However, with this era being the era of the sequel, fans have come to expect many classics to receive sequels. Now, official news has come about the Coming To America sequel. It becomes no more real than Eddie Murphy returning to do the movie.
