Emerging in 2011, 2 Chainz made the shift from Tity Boi and his mixtape success became too much to suppress. Following the release of Codeine Cowboy, 2 Chainz caught the attention of major labels. 2 Chainz partnered with Def Jam and immediately went to work on Based on a T.R.U. Story.
Released last summer, 2 Chainz had nothing but hits on the album. Featuring beats from the hottest producers in the game, 2 Chainz included Drumma Boy on the album. Now, nine months have passed since 2 Chainz released Based on a T.R.U. Story, which has since gone gold.
Everyone associated with the album has received their gold plaques, with the exception of Drumma Boy. Recently, all of this changed, when Drumma Boy was approached with his gold plaque for the album. Drumma Boy receiving the plaque was captured on tape and the footage was released to YouTube.
