#DrakeSingForJasmine: Friends of Jasmine, girl who recently died, plead with Drake to sing at her funeral

Drake 36Ten years ago, Kanye West rapped about the importance of social responsibility that rappers hold on “Jesus Walks.” Becoming a public figure means much more than looking cool in videos and performing at concerts. It is money from fans that helps artists get rich and these artists owe it to the fans to give back.

The people who understand this right away are the people who are truly rich and that goes deeper than any dollar amount. For those questioning why Drake has succeded for so long, it goes back to his relationships with the fans. Drake visited a girl earlier this year who was dying for cancer, participating in her #DrakeForKen movement.

Another young woman is dead, her name is Jasmine, who is from Pender County, right outside of Jacksonville, where she got into a fatal car accident, and her dying wish was to have Drake sing at her funeral. Her friends have come together to start a campaign to make her wish come true. This hashtag is #DrakeSingForJasmine and the fans have gotten into it to make it one of Twitter’s leading trending topics, as they want this dream to come true for the A&T student.
