Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy,” Becomes Only Rap Album of 2021, to Spend Five Total Weeks, at Number One Spot, on Billboard 200

Drake has been completely dominant, over the past month, with his sixth studio album, “Certified Lover Boy.” It debuted at number one, on the Billboard 200 chart, and spent three consecutive weeks, at that spot. It was also Drake’s sixth straight number one.

Since the three straight weeks, CLB ended up climbing back to number one for a fourth time, and now, it’s officially at a fifth. According to Chart Data, CLB sold 74,000 units. 1,516,000 units have been sold since CLB’s release, which makes the album certified platinum. Last week, Young Thug’s “Punk,” was at number one, on the Billboard 200.

CLB initially debuted nine songs in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart last month, as well. “Way 2 Sexy” ft. Future and Young Thug was also the top song in the US. Additional appearances on this album includes Lil Baby, Jay Z, Travis Scott, and more.

CLB is also the only rap album to spend five weeks at number one, this year. It definitely appears that it’ll be contending for this top spot, through the end of 2021. It will definitely be interesting to see which star will be able to overthrow Drake again. For now though, his dominance continues.
