Drake was the number one most streamed artist, in the US, in 2021

Drake was flat-out dominant, in 2021. Early that year, he put out his “Scary Hours 2” EP, to make up for his “Certified Lover Boy” album being delayed. All three songs on SH2 debuted in the top three of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which made Drake the first artist to hit this milestone.

In September, Drake finally went on to put out CLB, as it debuted at number one, and spent four straight weeks there. It also marked Drake’s sixth consecutive number one album. Every studio album in Drake’s career has reached this top spot.

Drake’s numbers definitely did the talking last year, as he was the most streamed artist, in the US, in 2021. According to Chart Data, he totaled 8.6 billion on-demand streams. One in every 131 streams, was also a Drake record.

In 2021, Drake scored two number one songs, in total. “What’s Next,” from Scary Hours 2, topped the Hot 100 in March, and “Way 2 Sexy,” ft. Young Thug and Future, reached that position in September. Way 2 Sexy wasn’t even a lead single, but fans gravitated towards that song the most.
