Dr. Dre has been in an ugly divorce battle with his estranged wife, Nicole Young, over the past year. She’s been coming after him financially as she’s been looking to have her expenses in this divorce process taken care of. So far, Young has been able to get $2 million in temporary spousal support. Now, the hip-hop legend, has to cough up even more money to Young.
According to The Daily Mail, Dre has been ordered to pay Young’s lawyers $500,000. This comes after Dre’s attorneys were in court on April 27 for a hearing. This may just be the beginning as Young also seeks to receive $2 million per month in support as well as having $5 million in lawyer fees taken care of by Dre. Dre has 10 days to pay the $500k and the next hearing will be July 8.
Young ended up claiming that Dre has $260 million in cash and Apple stocks. She also added that over the course of their 24 years of being married, $2.4 million is spent each month to support her lifestyle.
It’s been a rocky year for Dre as in early January, he suffered a brain aneurysm in Los Angeles. He was treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was there for almost two weeks in ICU and but was transferred to a regular hospital room. Dre was sent home but was still monitored just in case. The cause of the aneurysm didn’t end up being discovered.
