Longtime sports analyst Doris Burke has been a staple within sports entertainment for well over 20 years now. Burke made her name as one of the first female NBA commentator to call games with an incredible sense of knowledge, analytics, and personality. It’s what made her into the beloved reporter currently covering the NBA on ESPN and ABC.
Tonight while calling the Lakers-Mavericks game, Doris made some interesting comments in reaction to some good play from the young Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic. She found herself in an awkward position after she said, “I Was Hitting That Since I Was 16”, in the midst of her commentary on Luka’s performance in tonight’s game. Seeming to catch herself and sound embarrassed, Burke doubled down and said the comment again. Now of course this moment has made it’s way to twitter and fans are now taking off with it creating an entire narrative that Burke is probably unaware of. While I’m sure she didn’t mean what some of may have been thinking, twitter is having too much fun with it.
