Die hard NBA fans have a love/hate relationship with their favorite teams and their favorite players. In order for a player to become a favorite, normally they have to make a team stand out. Last year, it looked like Donovan Mitchell did that for the Utah Jazz.
This year’s Jazz looked pedestrian, by comparison, to last year’s squad, as Mitchell hit a bit of a sophomore slump. Perhaps his rookie efforts were so impressive that anything less isn’t accepted. Whatever the case, fans are upset with him.
Last year, Jazz fans were just happy to be in the playoffs, after expecting to miss, with Gordon Hayward going to Boston. This year, they had expectations, but went down 4-1 to James Harden’s Rockets, for the second straight year. The fans on Twitter aren’t having it, going in on “Donavan,” choosing Lonzo Ball over him, right now.
