Donald Trump Reportedly Pardoned Both Lil Wayne and Kodak Black on His Last Day as President

For the last week and a half, it’s been rumored that Lil Wayne and Kodak Black could be pardoned by Donald Trump before he leaves office and his time as president is over. It was recently revealed by Bloomberg that Trump had the paperwork needed to pardon Wayne. Now, it looks like both rappers are off the hook with their federal charges.

According to Reuters, Trump has granted these pardons to Wayne and Kodak in his last hours as president. This has reportedly been done the same for the former Mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick. Both Wayne and Kodak also endorsed Trump shortly before the 2020 presidential election arrived.

Wayne was scheduled to be sentenced on March 3 after he plead guilty last month to illegally possessing a loaded weapon. This was in regards to a December 2019 incident where a gold-plated Remington 1911, .45-caliber handgun loaded with six rounds of ammunition was found on a private jet. The jet was located at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. If Wayne was convicted in this case, he could’ve gotten 10 years in prison.

For Kodak, he has been in prison since May 2019. He was arrested at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami. This was due to authorities finding out that he falsified information on gun applications. Several firearms in Broward County, FL were reportedly linked to him. Then, in November of that year, the Pompano Beach rapper was then sentenced to 46 months in prison. It’s still unclear why Trump wanted to pardon both Kodak and Wayne but their loyalty to his MAGA base could be a huge reason.
