DMX has now tragically passed away at the age of 50, a week after suffering a heart attack caused by an apparent drug overdose, according to TMZ. He had originally been sent to a White Plains, NY hospital and had been on life support ever since.
X didn’t see much progress at all as tests on Wednesday concluded that his brain condition didn’t change. The prognosis was also labeled as “not good.” His loved ones began flying in on Tuesday after the hospital had a prayer vigil for him on Monday evening.
“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50 years old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days,” said a rep for DMX to TMZ. “Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end.He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. DMX had 15 children and also had a fiancèe at the time of his passing, which is Desiree Lindstrom. Their last child was born in 2016.
DMX also released eight studio albums in total as his debut project, “It’s Dark and Hell is Hot,” was released back in 1998. That was the start of a legendary run as he had five consecutive No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart. “Year of the Dog…Again” also hit No. 2 on the chart in 2006. Fans also saw him on a huge platform once again last summer as he took on 2 Chainz in a Verzuz battle. X’s final project was his “A Dog’s Prayers” EP last April.https://youtu.be/thIVtEOtlWMFollow Hip-HopVibe.com on Twitter and Instagram @HipHopVibe1.
