For three years, the Ruff Ryders have been working on their comeback. In the late 1990s, the Ruff Ryders were among the most-popular crews in hip hop. DMX and Eve remained in the spotlight throughout the early 2000s. However, DMX retired in 2003, while Eve focused on her television sitcom and her clothing line. DMX came out of retirement in 2006, the same year Eve’s sitcom ended its run.
Both DMX and Eve had comeback albums planned for 2007. For unknown reasons, both albums were delayed until they were scrapped. In 2009, DMX and Eve became an integral part of the Ruff Ryders’ comeback, as both were featured on the remix of Jadakiss’ “Who’s Real.” When DMX was sentenced to prison, the comeback was indefinitely delayed. However, DMX promised he was a changed man when he was released in 2011.
DMX has been releasing a series of freestyles and he has been performing shows around the United States since becoming a free man. Despite his solo efforts, DMX is still a Ruff Ryder at heart and he had a major announcement from his crew. Following the recent release of the compilation album, the next project from the Ruff Ryders will be a tour. DMX said Waah Dean, the CEO of the label has already started booking venues for the tour.
