Eight years ago, DJ Khaled had what a lot of people would’ve felt like was enough, already. He was on 99 Jamz in Miami, as one of the biggest radio DJs and he also had a co-sign from Fat Joe, when he was at his hottest, as a Terror Squad DJ. But, this was only the beginning for DJ Khaled, as he had a run coming.

From that moment on, DJ Khaled has released an album every year, with the exception of 2009. Early in his career, DJ Khaled proved to have a knack for uniting all the biggest rappers in the game. This prompted Def Jam to hire DJ Khaled to run the revived Def Jam South.

DJ Khaled recently returned to New York City and talked to Angie Martinez at Power 105.1. He talked about the Miami culture, his life on the road, and his new album, which is titled I Changed A Lot. Khaled also spoke on how the gym is therapy for him and his life and how “Hold You Down” was inspired by Quincy Jones’ “Secret Garden.”
