Late last year, DJ Khaled began making inspirational video clips and placing them on Snapchat. A growing social media community, these videos from DJ Khaled put Snapchat on the map. Since then, Khaled has seen a resurgence in his career.
In 2011, he left Def Jam for Cash Money Records, where he brought his label, We The Best, and oversaw Ace Hood score a summer anthem. He would leave Cash Money, silently, in 2014. This year, DJ Khaled made a big announcement of signing with Epic Records.
DJ Khaled also joined Roc Nation, working directly with Jay Z, who is his manager. This led to him dropping Major Key, his number one album, boasting “For Free” with Drake and “I Got The Keys” with Jay Z and Future. Wendy Williams got DJ Khaled to visit her show, where he spoke on this, touring with Beyonce, becoming a father, and much more.
