Directors of Kanye West’s “jeen-yuhs,” won’t give West the final edit, on the documentary

Kanye West doesn’t get final edit for “jeen-yuhs” documentary

Kanye West’s “jeen-yuhs” documentary, on Netflix, is set to be released on February 16. Last month, Netflix released a trailer for this documentary, as fans believe that this should be one of the biggest projects, on that streaming platform.

In late January, Kanye went on to speak on Instagram, as he expressed his desire to have the final edits, of “jeen-yuhs.”

“I’m going to say this kindly for the last time. I must get final edit and approval on this doc before it releases on Netflix. Open the edit room immediately so I can be in charge of my own image. Thank you in advance.”

Time has passed, as many wonder if Kanye has eventually been granted the final edits, on this highly anticipated documentary. According Rolling Stone though, “jeen-yuhs” directors, Coodie and Chike, didn’t give Ye that green light. This all comes as the documentary has already been submitted to Netflix, as well.

“Me and Chike have a company called Creative Control,” Coodie said, “because you don’t want to lose your creative control. I asked him, ‘Did he watch the film?’ And he said, ‘I have a process,'” Coodie added. “I said, ‘That’s great that you got your process.’ And we just talked as brothers from that point.”

Despite Kanye not getting the final edit for “jeen-yuhs,” fans will most likely appreciate the product that they see. A lot of footage in this documentary displays content over the last 18 years, of Ye’s career.
