Tonight’s loss gives the Toronto Raptors their seventh straight playoff loss, against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Game 1, just like every other game Toronto plays against Cleveland, was a letdown. Point blank, they need more out of DeMar DeRozan, if he’s this team’s superstar.
DeMar DeRozan can match up well, against LeBron James, but has a history of disappearing against him. All season long, the Raptors talked about how they didn’t like being overlooked. Games like tonight’s game are why NBA pundits always overlook them.
After the Game 1 loss, tonight, DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry talked to the media. They took ownership of the Raptors’ loss, down the stretch, but DeRozan also said the game should have never gotten close, to begin with. With this now in mind, DeRozan said Toronto knows how to play the series, going forward.
