Long before he went solo, Pusha T was dropping hit singles and making classic records with his brother, No Malice. While The Clipse had some mainstream success, most of their following was on the underground. Many of the hottest lyrics from some of the biggest rappers in the game are actually quotes from The Clipse.

A popular phrase in hip hop is “keys open doors.” The phrase was made popular by Jay-Z on his “Thank You” track off The Blueprint 3. Later, Young Jeezy lifted it for his “F.A.M.E.” single with T.I. While Jay-Z gets a lot of credit for the phrase, The Clipse, who are known for their rhymes about “caine” are the ones who made it popular.

Now, Pusha T sits down with Jay-Z’s Life + Times for their “DECODED” segment where he broke “Keys Open Doors” down. The song released back in 2006 and included on the sophomore album from The Clipse. Though overlooked, Hell Hath No Fury was one of the best albums of 2006.
