Darin Stewart and Brandon Marshall, of the #Broncos, get fined for helmet hit to Cam Newton

camnewtonhelmethitsvidLast Thursday, the NFL returned in exciting fashion, as the NBC opener saw a rematch of the Super Bowl. Many expected the Carolina Panthers to get revenge against the Denver Broncos. Last season, the Panthers were close to perfect, but fell apart in the Super Bowl against Denver.

Cam Newton remains the most-popular player in the NFL, which makes a player an automatic target. In their victory over Carolina, the Broncos showed no mercy to the NFL marquee player. Among other things, he took three helmet hits to the head, giving him a concussion.

Many Carolina Panthers’ fans cried out on Twitter over the rough play and wanted something to happen. This has led to the NFL taking measures to punish the players for what they did. Now, Darin Stewart and Brandon Marshall have gotten fined $18,231 and $24,309, respectively.
