Danny Brown slams Miley Cyrus over her Detroit comments

Danny Brown 2This summer, Danny Brown has made himself a topic of discussion. Detroit’s hip hop scene had virtually disappeared and then he, Big Sean, and a few others helped bring the focus back. But, during an interview earlier this summer, Danny Brown said he did not consider Big Sean an authentic Detroit artist.

Danny Brown has had more time in the spotlight this year, as he has prepared for the release of his album, OLD. With him, Big Sean, and Earlly Mac doing their thing out there in Detroit, the city is hot. This year, Miley Cyrus took over the rap game and she recently paid homage to Detroit, saying the city inspired her and she grew up there.

When Danny Brown talked to Rolling Stone, he addressed this and he said he thinks that she said that just for the sake of saying something. Writing Miley Cyrus off as “just a little girl,” Danny Brown said she did not live that Detroit experience. He went on to speak on her rap co-signs.

According to Danny Brown, the rappers who have co-signed her, which include Juicy J (obviously), French Montana, Mike WiLL, and all the others, did it because they need the money. Danny Brown cited how Kendrick Lamar took the game over with one verse and how he did not reach out to Miley Cyrus for a collaboration. He feels they are being nice to the little white girl to get their plug for something bigger.
