DaBaby Wins Best Male Hip-Hop Artist Award at #BETAwards

DaBaby has been one of the biggest breakthrough artists of the past year as he initially blew up with his “Suge” single last spring. He also released his debut studio album, ‘Baby on Baby’ that spring. He followed up that success with his sophomore album, ‘Kirk,’ in the fall. That featured hits such as its intro and “Vibez.” Both of these projects also ended up being certified platinum on the same day this past March as it was also the one-year anniversary of the day that his father passed away.

The Charlotte rapper went on to release his third album, ‘Blame It On Baby‘ in April as it contained another hit with “Rockstar” feat. Roddy Ricch. The debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and Rockstar recently became the No. 1 song in the country prior to Tekashi 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj’s “TROLLZ” single taking that spot.

Baby was still honored at the BET Awards tonight though as he just took home the award for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. This was another extremely competitive category as Drake, Future, Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, and Travis Scott were also included. This award honestly could’ve gone either way.
