DaBaby Apologizes Again, After Anti-LGBTQ Comments at Rolling Loud Festival, and Getting Removed From More Festival Lineups – “What I Needed Was Education on These Topics and Guidance”

DaBaby has been getting destroyed on social media over the past week, due to homophobic/anti-LGBTQ comments made at the Rolling Loud festival, in Miami. 2 The Charlotte rapper’s previous apologies have come across as back-handed to a lot of people and now, he’s just issued another apology on Instagram, hoping to get in the good graces of fans again.

“Social media moves so fast that people want to demolish you before you even have the opportunity to grow, educate, and learn from your mistakes,” DaBaby said. “As a man who has had to make his own way from very difficult circumstances, having people I know publicly working against me— knowing that what I needed was education on these topics and guidance— has been challenging. I appreciate the many people who came to me with kindness, who reached out to me privately to offer wisdom, education, and resources. That’s what I needed and it was received. I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important. Love to all. God bless.”

This comes after DaBaby was dropped from last night’s Lollapalooza lineup in Chicago, which was the fourth and final day of the festival. Parklife Festival in Manchester, England, doesn’t have him on their lineup anymore, as well as Day N Vegas, and Governor’s Ball. This apology may be a little too late at this point.
