Nobody had a year that’s coming close to Cardi B. She overcame a consecutive career year from DJ Khaled and impressive career runs from French Montana and Kendrick Lamar. Both they and Jay-Z were on comeback runs.
However, Cardi B had goals and she accomplished every single one of them. She is in some rare company, being nominated for a Grammy, as a lead artist, without releasing an album. Many rules will have to be changed, due to Cardi B’s run.
Another female rapper that made big moves, in 2017, was Cuban Doll, who got into beef with the other “doll” rappers. But, Cuban Doll is looking to make her major move. According to rumors, Cuban Doll will begin 2018 with a Cardi B collaboration.
