Long before she, literally, showed her booty, Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) was easily “Empire’s” favorite character. The brash way that she is portrayed by Henson has drawn fans to her. But, the aforementioned booty has helped draw in male fans.
Most of all, people love that Cookie keeps it real, all across the board. It was this trait that held up in tonight’s episode. From the gate, she was checking Lucious (Terrence Howard) on how he was handling his sons. She provided comfort to Jamal and Andre (Jussie Smollett, Trai Byers).
When it comes to Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray), Cookie gave him the tough love she gave him in the pilot episode. As he is drawing himself back towards Lucious, Cookie gave him a major dose of reality when he dissed his brothers. Twitter loves Cookie for that.
