The past few weeks have been tough for Drake. Things were going well for the Toronto rapper, as he successfully released his second album, Take Care, and he continued his run. However, his comments from the summer, which had gone unnoticed, were noticed by Ludacris. Big Sean, who had waitied two years to release his debut album, accused Drake of stealing his rhyming style and also said Ludacris borrowed his flow.

When he conducted an interview of his own, Drake agreed with Big Sean and he also said Ludacris had borrowed the flow. A veteran in the game, Ludacris waited until the release of his 1.21 Gigawatts mixtape to air both rappers out. Days later, Common released “Sweet” and his track also appeared to have lines aimed at Drake. Early in his career, Drake said he would not be one of the rappers to contribute to beef.

Common discussed “Sweet” and the perceived diss towards Drake during his interview with V103, saying his lyrics were aimed at whoever fits the cap. While he said the diss was aimed at whoever fits the cap, Common said he is actually a fan of Drake and thinks he makes good music. Other artists Common is a fan of includes Lil Wayne, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar. Common said the video for “Sweet” was filmed in Haiti.
