Coi Leray has definitely been one of 2021’s biggest breakout artists. She’s had several hit singles, such as “Big Purrd” ft. Pooh Shiesty and “No More Parties” remix ft. Lil Durk, which is 2x platinum in the US.
Coi went on to become a 2021 XXL Freshman, with many ending up criticizing her cypher freestyle. The New Jersey artist has done a great job of drowning out the noise though, as she continues to put out records, and remains very active on social media.
In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Coi spoke on this, and believes that haters just like to keep tabs on her, to criticize.
“I swear, people keep notifications on me just so they can hate on my performance, my body, my braces,” she told the publication. “But it all works perfectly with my promo plan. Run the views up!”
Coi also added that she wouldn’t mind reaching pop stardom as well. She includes names such as Lady Gaga and Doja Cat in these categories.
“I’m so confident in who I amthat I don’t look at nobody as competition. I could be in a room with anybody and [not] feel like they’re overshadowing me.”
Coi also recently revealed that her debut studio album will finally arrived in September. The exact date and official title have yet to be publicly revealed as of now. Coi is also joining Lil Baby on his “The Back Outside Tour” next week.
