The epic Coachella festival is back at it again in Indigo, California this upcoming April. Today, the official lineups were announced via social media. The festival will take place on separate weekends as they will be on April 10, 12, 17, and 19.
Music fans should appreciate the diversity on this lineup and for the hip-hop and R&B genre, it definitely meets expectations. The star-studded roster includes Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, 21 Savage, Summer Walker, Lil Uzi Vert, and Ari Lennox. Other superstars that we’ve seen take over hip-hop in recent years that will also appear at Coachella are Roddy Ricch, Swae Lee, Lil Nas X, and J.I.D. Weekend 1 is already sold out but Weekend 2 presale starts on Coachella.com on 1/6 at 12pm PT.
The acts from the hip-hop/R&B acts have without a doubt been major stars from this past decade. DaBaby stormed onto the scene in 2019 with his hit single, “Suge” and put out two albums in the same calendar year. Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch also had a breakout 2019. Summer Walker started to put R&B on notice in 2018 with her “Girls Need Love” single and this past fall, she released her debut album “Over It.” Travis Scott has seen major success since the middle of the decade as he signed to T.I.’s Hustle Gang record label which led to a deal with Epic. He has since dropped three albums since 2015, with the recent project being “Astroworld” in August of 2019 which is now 3x platinum. Check out the full Coachella lineups for April 2020 below.
