For a while, “The Game” was television’s best-kept secret. A spinoff from “Girlfriends,” “The Game” originally starred Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall. Due to their network going through a programming change, “The Game” never had consistent scheduling.

In 2009, reruns hit BET, and people fell for the series, even though it was likely to be cancelled. At the end of the season, the show left on a cliffhanger, cancelled. But, BET picked the series back up, airing it from 2011-2015, leading their original scripted programming.

After much demand, “The Game” is now coming back, for a second time. This time, Hosea Chanchez and Wendy Raquel Robinson will lead the cast, as these original cast members played Malik Wright and Tasha Mack. Other members of the original cast will make sparing guest appearances, as Paramount+ will air the show, on their app.

Read Mara Brock-Akil’s statement below:

“Fifteen years ago I created ‘The Game’ and am so proud of the success we had, and that I was able to create characters and stories that resonated with so many people,” stated  Mara  Brock  Akil. “I couldn’t be happier about leaving my beloved characters like Tasha Mack and Malik Wright in the hands of Devon, Wendy and Hosea, who I know will build off of the rich foundation the show has.”
