In 2018, City Girls made their debut, and soon took over the game. Before the summer was over, Drake already put them on the summer’s biggest hit. A year later, City Girls owned the radio with “Act Up,” a song Lil Yachty claims he contributed to.
Lil Yachty was actually the first solo QC artist to blow up, taking over the game in 2016. The following year, Lil Baby became a big name, followed by City Girls. Since then, Yachty has faded into the background, but is slowly re-emerging.
City Girls recently did their media rounds, sitting down with Real 92.3, in LA. During their interview, City Girls were asked about Lil Yachty contributing to “Act Up.” Grand opening, grand closing, “next question” was their response to that question.
