Immediately, when Ciara made her debut, she instantly was compared to Janet Jackson. Her embrace of crunk music, fusing it into R&B was actually reminiscent of Mary J. Blige and Aaliyah. In the case of the deceased icon, Aaliyah cited Janet Jackson as one of her influences.
Ciara was definitely on the verge of becoming a huge star, as she was another 2004-2005 product. However, she was beginning to form a solid career, alongside Keyshia Cole and Keri Hilson. Just like now, the standard bearer was Beyonce.
Recently, Ciara has taken a step back from music, although she does have a new album. But, she took a step back to focus on her baby, her first biological child with Russell Wilson. Taking a family day, Ciara took the kiddos to Disneyland, where she ran into Janet Jackson, also doing a family day with her son.
