Last year saw Chief Keef unexpectedly make the leap from being a popular mixtape rapper to being the biggest sensation of the year. Three words helped to put the young rapper, Chief Keef, over the top, “I Don’t Like.” The breakout single ended up being remixed by Kanye West and labels came calling.

Birdman and Young Jeezy both expressed interest in signing Chief Keef to their respective labels. Interscope Records did not make any public announcements about wanting Chief Keef, but signed him. Offering $5 million to Chief Keef, his Finally Rich album was scheduled for a mid-December release.

But, he also visited Richmond, Virginia to talk to Power 92.1 and discussed 50 Cent not being his mentor, Interscope Records, and more.
